FORMULATION


Engaged by MER, a renowned Norwegian music company and artist representative, Pixel Tonic was invited to create artwork for the management team’s leading artist, Alan Walker.


Boasting an audience of over 115 million followers across his socials, the Norwegian DJ and Producer is known for his dynamic EDM beats that deliver resounding atmospheric verve. Bounding into the international music scene in 2015 with his critically acclaimed debut single “Faded”, Alan Walker has continued to build upon his chart-topping career with hit tracks going platinum in over a dozen countries and playing over 600 headlining shows.


2021’s direction for the artist has a strong focus on new music combining compelling visuals – calling for Pixel Tonic’s expressive design expertise. Tasked with crafting artwork for Alan Walker’s next single “Paradise” from his newly released album “World of Walker”, the project necessitated an imaginative approach to produce synergistic visuals as rousing as the track.



TONIC


Pixel Tonic pored over design concepts in a collaborative effort with MER to ensure the perfect end-product, reflective of the management company’s vision.


Handling art direction and design, we ensured to inject Pixel Tonic’s signature vitality into the artwork while capturing the dystopian spirit of “Paradise”. Futuristic, utilitarian angularity and sweeping curves encompass the design with a nod to the dark tomorrow looming ahead.


Bolstering the project involved spearheading a widespread digital rollout over a number of digital assets including web banners and signage.




REACTION


Pixel Tonic is thrilled with the success of Alan Walker’s “Paradise”. The buzz created by the single’s launch set the stage for a highly anticipated release of the “World of Walker” album. With our artwork reaching a substantial audience, the “Paradise” music video has over 7.7 million YouTube views and featured on Spotify to achieve in excess of 10 million listens.
